GDW LZ 250SN-H Compact Precision Lathe
Description
Small Footprint, Big Precision
The GDW LZ 250SN-H is the most compact machine in GDW’s precision lathe range — and one of the brand’s most popular models. Built in Germany for toolrooms, mold and fixture shops, medical technology, R&D labs and training centers, it delivers toolroom-grade accuracy in a footprint that fits almost any shop.
A stepless AC main drive with speeds from 30 to 4,000 rpm keeps cutting speed constant regardless of load, while a 24- or 48-step feed gearbox covers a fine range of feeds and thread pitches — metric, inch, module and diametral pitch. The 17-inch color operator panel stores technology data for up to 99 tools, supports constant speed or constant surface speed, and offers electronic thread stops and plain-text diagnostics.
The spindle runs in three preloaded angular-contact bearings for smooth, vibration-free operation, and the induction-hardened cast-iron bed and hardened, ground slide screws keep the machine precise for decades. Safety and convenience come standard: a monitored chuck guard, sliding splash guard with safety glass, automatic handwheel disengagement, removable chip tray and a lockable tool cabinet built into the base.
