The GDW LZ 280VS-G from the basicline series is a compact precision lathe built in Germany for toolrooms, mold and fixture shops, maintenance departments, R&D labs and technical schools. It delivers true toolroom accuracy at a price that makes German precision accessible to shops of every size.
A stepless feed drive lets the operator dial in the ideal feed rate for every material and finish, while 18 spindle speeds from 30 to 3,000 rpm cover everything from heavy turning to fine finishing. Cutting threads is simple: the intuitive operator interface accepts feed and thread input directly — metric, inch, module and diametral pitch — with no change gears to swap.
A 3-axis digital readout comes standard, along with automatic handwheel disengagement, covered lead screw and feed rod, an LED work light, a sliding splash guard with safety glass and a built-in tool cabinet with telescopic drawers. Exceptionally smooth, quiet and energy-efficient, the LZ 280VS-G is built to hold its precision for decades.
