FPS 500M-digital Dualmaster Universal Milling Machine
Description
Manual Control Meets Powered Precision
The FPS 500M-digital belongs to the FPS Dualmaster series — universal milling and drilling machines built in Germany that combine classic handwheel operation with a modern straight-cut control. Machinists can work fully manually or let the Heidenhain POSITIP 8016 Touch control drive the axes with continuously variable feeds, making the machine equally suited to one-off parts, repair work and small production runs.
A powerful 18.9 hp main drive with 179 lb-ft of torque and stepless speeds from 20 to 5,000 rpm handles both heavy roughing in steel and high-speed finishing in aluminum. Hydraulic tool clamping on the ISO 40 spindle speeds up every tool change, while the ±90° swivel head and an additional 5.9 in of head travel along the Y-axis let you machine complex features in a single setup.
The 24.8 × 18.5 in table carries workpieces up to 770 lb, and the rigid cast frame with hand-scraped guideways keeps accuracy consistent for decades. For toolrooms, mold shops and maintenance departments, the FPS 500M-digital is a modern successor to the classic DECKEL FP-series concept — with far more power and convenience.
